Alpenrose Velodrome clean up day

We are going to have the clean up day for the velodrome next Sunday, 4/5. This is Easter but the Alpenrose Easter egg hunt is on Saturday so we shouldn't have to worry about kids or bunnies. Please join us to get the track ready for this year's racing. We will start at 10:00 AM and go until we run out of gas. We will be mounting sponsor signs, moving equipment out of storage, power washing and painting buildings. Wear work/paint clothes. It will be a good opportunity for track races to get reacquainted and for new people to meet track racers when they don't have their race face on. More importantly it will be a way to demonstrate your appreciation for the support that the Alpenrose Dairy gives not only to track racing but to OBRA functions in general. If it doesn't rain and we are there long enough we will get pizza or something to make sure everyone is fed. I hope to see a lot of you there.

Another reminder that the annual clean up day for the velodrome will be this
Sunday April 29. Hopefully we will have dry weather that day. Show up ready
to paint, pull weeds, lift and carry stuff, etc. Starts at 9:00 AM and we
will be there all day. Please show up because we need the help. Show up
earlier or late, stay as long as you like. We will need help all day.

In the past we have had lots of people show up and hopefully this year will
be the same. Lots of people make the work go quickly. In many ways it is a
lot like a barn raising. It is very satisfying to see people giving back to
the bike racing community and to see the velodrome look good.

Free pancake breakfast provided by Chris King!!!

Free pizza for lunch.

I have not scheduled it yet but it looks like the 2 options are 4/21 and
4/29. The 21st would be better because we could reschedule to 29 and still
get it done before racing starts on 5/3. The catch is that I am scheduled
to work until 6:30 in the AM from the night before. I am going to try to
switch that around. If we have to we could use either day the first week in
May and that would leave only one day of racing which is Kilo night so that
wouldn't be too bad.

If you have input into this let me know. I will post a note when we
schedule a day.

Tomorrow, Sunday 4/25 is the day. Help us get the track ready for the start

of racing in May. Wear your work clothes and be prepared to paint, pull

weeds, put up sponsor signs, tote equipment, etc. We will start at 9:00 Am

and go to about 5:00 PM. Lunch provided.
