To all of you who made the 2004 Elkhorn Classic Stage Race possible we thank you.
The peleton was a thing of beauty. I had almost as much fun watching the men and women race over the valleys and mountains of eastern Oregon, from the seat of a motorcycle, as I would have if I would have been on my bike. You all put on a great show and generated a great deal of excitement in Baker City. Every single rider and official, except for two participants from Baker City, traveled to this event. I hope you are all home safe and are recovering from a challenging weekend of riding. Thanks for making the trip.
Baker City, again proved to be an excellent host for our bike race. The "Welcome" signs in the windows and amazing hospitality is refreshing and appreciated. We hope to come back.
The support of the high school which provides lodging options, the spaghetti dinner, and a large number of our volunteers is critical to the race. Thank you for accommodating us and we are glad to be a part of your fund raising efforts.
The merchants of Baker City thank you for racing and for shopping while you were in Baker City. I toured around the city today and heard from a number of sources that the Elkhorn Classic provides one of the best financial weekends for them throughout the entire year. They appreciate your business. I thank you for being good ambassadors of our sport so we can continue to race in areas like Baker City.
