As the rule says:

"Penalty or disqualification is at the discretion of the Race Official"

Are these rules not strictly enforced?

from the obra rules pdf...

10.3 - No rider shall cut, fold, mutilate, trim or apply stickers to the

race number, nor shall they sell, trade or

give the issued number to another individual. Penalty or disqualification is

at the discretion of the Race

Official.

10.6 - MOUNTAIN BIKE COMPETITIONS

The figures on a front number plate must have a minimum height of 8cm and a

minimum width of 1.5cm on

a 18cm by 18cm background. Body numbers, if used, shall be according to the

road standard.

Just noticed a bunch of 'aerodynamic' cutting at the Bear Springs race.

NOT trying to stir up any controversey just wondering

thanks

does it really matter as long as the number can be clearly identified? I do

cut my so I can change the brake/shifter adjustment if the race is muddy or

extremely dry.

I believe some rules are meant to be guides, not absolutes. Rules that

ensure fair competition should be upheld. Rules about number plates...not

so sure we need to get the rule police out for this one.
