Race Director Signs Deal with Downtown Events Management, Inc.





"The Eugene Celebration Cycling Classic is a 20 year tradition and a

great end to the Oregon road race season," said Jim Anderson, Eugene

Celebration Cycling Classic Race Director. Now in his third year as

coordinator, Jim Anderson outlined his goals as increasing the purse,

the scope of the event and adding an exciting new racecourse for 2001.



"After the 2000 event success of over 320 race participants, the

popularity and importance of this race to the cycling community was

evident." Steven Remington, DEMI President, is "thrilled that we have a

dedicated Race Director to provide leadership to one of the Eugene

Celebration's longest standing events. This race is one of the top three

races in Oregon and Jim does a great job representing the cycling

community as well as the festival interests."



One of the Northwest's most exciting late season races, last year The

Eugene Celebration Cycling Classic drew top racers from Oregon,

Washington, California and Canada. The management contract with the

Downtown Events Management, Inc. (DEMI) proud producers of the Eugene

Celebration, will integrate the race as an official event of The Eugene

Celebration, which is held September 14-16 2001. The Eugene Celebration

Cycling Classic is held September 15 - 16, 2001.
