I found a very nice tire pump on the Tour de Hood route when I rode the route this last Sunday. I found a Leatherman tool one day also.

A 12-ft tow chain with
big honkin' hooks on either end. Didn't think my jersey pockets would survive
that, so I had to go bandolier-style; luckily it was only a mile from the
house.
