Wonderful race despite my 5 five minute self inflicted mechanical meltdown.
I wanted to take the opportunity to apologize to one of the racers in the womens' race. On the hill before the end of the forest, I miscommunicated with my 7 year old and she dashed across the course a split second too early and brought down a racer. My daughter took a bit of a tumble.
The first words out of the racer's mouth were 'Is she OK?!"
I am happy to report that other than a slight scrape on her knee and a big lump on her ego, she is just fine.
I don't know who you are, but thank you for caring more about my daughter's welfare than the race. I sincerely apologize for not being more careful with her on the course. I hope that you and your bike are unscathed and that you finished well. On that course, extra obstacles were certainly unnecessary.
