Subject: [OBRA Chat] Larch Mtn Starting list and updates...

Well there is really no reason for the entire OBRA community to not be racing somewhere at something this week as there are multiple OBRA races on Saturday and Sunday. A couple of running events are out there and I'm sure a swim meet or two as well so everyone should be out and about :)

Meanwhile - the first starting list has been posted. Last year we had a big signup at the end of the week so keep in mind the start list will change. Make your plans sign up for two days of racing and get ready for the championships.

Notes of Interest :

For those who pre-rode the course this weekend, you already know, for the rest, from MP 3 to MP4 on East Larch Mt road was chip sealed late last week and the second coat today. The county plans to sweep the entire course later this week to help us out.

Day of registration is available, but begins after the final pre-registered rider. We might consider a reservation option as well.

The fabled finisher's Medal and coveted OUCH@Larch Mtn water bottles will be awaiting you at the top.

A car will go up with bags when the clock starts. Bring your labeled bags to the information (not registration) table to be taken up.

Got questions or special accommodations? Let us know.

As many are aware the Corbett fire station was burglarized early this month. OUCH has made a donation to the local school scholarship each year but is looking to see how we can help. Supporting the community we live in. OBRA has shown that time and again. Donations will be passed along, suggestions are always welcomed.

Ride safe and thanks for racing!

Ernie.

Hello everyone!  Yes indeed, the "Race of Truth" (That's Time Trial for runner's out there) season is in full swing and it's a good thing too because the championships are right around the corner. Good luck to everyone at both the tune ups and championships.  We have one of each below:

OUCH: The Larch Mountain TT is Sunday July 27th.  Preregister on the amazing OBRA signup page. The promoter is even paying your service fee. Plus you'll get your coveting OUCH water bottle and finishers medal. As we have for 13 years now, a portion of the proceeds support the Corbett community through the Corbett Education Fund's Scholarship program.

The OBRA uphill championship is Sunday August 10th, and returns to the fabled Mt Hood East leg road course from Government Camp to Timberline Lodge. Who is the fastest person of all the champions? Find out by registering on the easy OBRA sign up system - oh and the promoter pays your service fee here too. WOW!  This year, earn your OBRA championship medal and also your 2014 finisher water bottle. Also, because we care, a portion of the proceeds will go to helping the Barlow school district Cross County (slow down that's CC not CCX), and Track and Field programs.

Got questions? Let us know. Need help? Let us know.

Until then, Thanks for racing and Safe travels.

Good luck to everyone racing this week all over our wonderful state!
What a great thing to be a part of OBRA!!! Thank you!

* The road to Larch Mtn is clear and calling your name! Yes this uphill
race starts with the fabled downhill starting ramp!!! (or so is the
plan)

* Starting list V1 will be posted tomorrow night.

* The start times may change but will only get later, start times will
never get earlier.

* Online registration will remain open until Thursday evening so the
final adjustment posting can be made Friday. The final list will be
posted Friday night and/or Saturday AM.

* To thank those preregistering - there will be no day-of starts (except
Juniors) in the preregistered riders section - that is, the first day-of
entry will be the first rider to leave after the last pre-registered
sorted rider.

* The 10 day forecast reports 83 in Corbett on Sunday meaning a super
day of racing. Sign up now!

* To help with pre-registeration, refunds can be up to end of day

A few updates about next week's race:

First - it is next week Sunday July 24th. Good luck if you are racing the amazing Cascade Classic. If not, sign up for OUCH and have some fun.

The road to the summit like Le' Tour is clear, but there is snow along the sides and at the top. However, imagine your picture at the top where friends and family willl stare in awe at the zenith you have reached. Also Sherrard Point is looking sweet.

Online registration is behind last year, but a starting list will get posted early next week.

A reminder - to help our limited officials, day of registration will go in first-come-first-served order. We will not backfill positions so that those starting lists can get printed and finalized. Want to race early? Preregister and let us know about special requests.

We will take bags up to the top again.

All racers who reach the top receive their finisher medal and the now traditional adn fabled 2011 OUCH water bottle.

A portion of the proceeds, as they have been for the past five years now, will be donated to the Corbett School District on behalf of NEMCCA and OBRA in honor of the amazing people who make our cycling community what it is.

We have a father-son tandem racing. BAM! family love :)

Safe Travels
