Bend trail conditions

Well said Eric. Our trails are easily damaged when ridden
prematurely and that damage can persist all season.

Horse Ridge is another area to consider for the early season.

The rideability would depend on temperatures and drainage.
Do not ride (no matter how much you paid to stay) when these
guys ask to have the trails closed.http://cotamtb.com/ Just
check with them about conditions the week prior.

This map, when you zoom out, shows other areas outside Bend
that often are ridable in the early season. Maston would be a
spot to consider, as would Smith Rock.

Hey Bend Peeps,
I'm planning a trip with the family over Spring Break
(3/27 - 3/31) and I would love to get some mountain
biking in - what's the outlook for trail conditions at
the end of the month? Would Phil's up to the helipad be
rideable? Anywhere else in the area? Thanks!

I'm heading to Bend tomorrow and thinking about bringing the mountain bike. Anybody know the trail conditions over there? Recommendations on where to go?

Do I bring a road bike or a mountain bike to Bend this weekend?

Brady:

I'd stay off Phils Trail and the River Trail for the next few weeks. They're soft and riding on them can do some damage.

For more about which trails might work for a ride, see here:
http://cotamtb.com/2012/the-etiquette-of-mud-in-central-oregon/

I rode Matson last weekend, and it was in prime shape.

Hi OBRA--

Anyone been on lower Phil's (east of and up to Storm King) or Deschutes River Trail lately? Wondering if it is worth a try or should stick to the road.

Thanks,
Brady
