Tuck and roll my friend. Make yourself into the smallest target possible and
hope you don't get hit, or have someone try to bunny hop your arm and break
bad enough to need surgery. Most riders should just lay still and wait until
the field goes by you, because yes, it is extremely dangerous to try and get
up right away, because the field is usually splitting around you and any
movement on the crashed riders part endangers other people. It should be
common practice not to jump up on your feet right away.
As for the crash on Sunday, I think the rider involved was just as surprised
as everyone else that he was back up on his feet, and was totally oblivious
to the bike he started swinging around like a baseball bat. And Doug, I know
he was looking for you after the race, so you might want to keep your eye
out for him next week.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Question regaurding Crashes?
Question. What Is the proper response of riders or rider who has crashed
and
has field approaching? I think that moving around endangers on coming
riders.
Twice I've picked a line away from a crash only to have them jump in front
of
me at the last second. The last time BB#2 Cat 4/5. Is this common? How can
I
minimize this from happening In the future? Sore and $270.00 In the hole.
