Can you guys do me a favor and post something that says anyone who did not
get a chance to register online can register for the race/ride at packet
pickup. I am getting several emails that I was hoping to address with the
post on OBRA Chat. I am finding that there are people who do not look at
our website or facebook. Times for registration are posted online at
http://www.gorgeroubaix.com/gorge-roubaix-race/

Thanks!

Chad

Dear OBRA Members,

We are working to finalize everything for the inaugural Gorge Roubaix. We will be releasing info on Wednesday night January 30th, for this event, so stay tuned. Race is scheduled for Sunday March 24 and will be a Breakaway Promotions event. Meaning hard but quality race. Please understand this event is NOT for everyone. In fact this event is truly only for a few number of those who seek an opportunity to challenge not only their level of fitness but also their mental toughness and bike handling skills. We are prepared and expecting a low turnout for this event due to this criteria. Outside of Breakaway Promotions we currently have no sponsors and we are okay with that.

Now that said is this race for you. Below are a few questions that you must honestly ask yourself before signing up to race this event.

1. Have I ever contacted a promoter to complain about gravel on a course or the condition of the pavement the race would roll over.

2. Do I hate cold, wet, muddy conditions for road racing.

3. Do I avoid races that have little to no prize money as that is more important than the quality or challenge of the race itself.

If you have answered yes to any of these questions I would seriously consider NOT participating in this event. It will just make you cry and hate bike racing. For those of you who answered no to these questions then you are racers after my own heart. Racers who once road the old Tour of Willamette and wear it as a badge of honor even if it scarred you.

Bottom line I am NOT putting on this race to get rich or try and get coverage in VeloNews. I am putting on this race for two reasons. I want to find out who the toughest racers are in the Northwest and I want to put on an event that is down right core.

Stay tuned.........

Sincerely,
Chad Sperry

Obra,

Does anyone have information on the course for Gorge Roubaix? I emailed
Chad, haven't heard back yet. Fingers are crossed it is the old final stage
course from Cherry Blossom[?]
