Ronnie,
I think that the best solution will be arrived at if the moderator fluid is from Boneyard.

So the 45+ category doesn't float your boat?

Looking back at PDX area race data with a 45+ women's field, more than half
the racers are 50+. And 50+ women often win those races. You all do know
that if the races were to offer a 50+ women's category, then you would say
bye bye to the 45+, right? Or is everyone dead set on dicing the categories
every smaller?

Maybe you can get together, sit in a circle on the floor or around a

this?
I understand different races draw various numbers depending on location, but
it seem somewhat standard cats based on numbers (changing as racers age?)
might be good for all.
We will be good junior achievers and "abide" by what you come up with in any
sort of pow-wow you convene.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Women's 50+ in cyclocross

As one of the older girls racing cross I'd like to ask the cross race
promoters and OBRA to consider adding a women's 50+ category in cyclocross
for 2014. I can't speak for all the 50+ women racing cross or who are
thinking about racing, but there are increasing numbers of us and several of

us have expressed interest in having such a category.

Change the  Master catagory for women to be the same as for the men.    Change the master 45+  to Master 50+ same as the Men (Not adding a catagory just changing it)

Just like Ron said  Adopt 50+  :)

Bonnie / obra,
This seems like a logical idea.  Rules people who are going to meet, maybe
you should consider a 50+ for women in cross.  I know more men will be in
the 60+ cat next year, but look at Hood River on the second day.  Only three
raced.  I am sure there would be more than that for a 50+ women cat. at many
races.  I do not believe women in a 50+ cat. would be as concerned about
prize swag as just being able to compete against a group closer to their age
than what exists at present.  I am not a promoter, but it seems like a small
add on for a race schedule etc.  Bonnie and or other team members with a
stake, be sure to speak up or whatever else is needed at the rules meeting
on the 28th.  I would assume many 50+ men would support your idea.........as
well as 60+ men.
Rules committee..........do the right thing please.  Adopt a 50+ for these
deserving ladies.

Considering there is already a women's 35+ and a 45+, I assume the next
natural category would be 55+. Considering the men have had a 60+ category
for several years, it does seem like a 55+ for women might be in order
soon. While there aren't a lot of us in that age range, I think having the
category would encourage the older women to show up and the category would
grow.
