This is an unfair potshot John, and you know that. You may know a lot more
about bike fitting than the article outlines, but it certainly makes you
sound boorish when you belittle the content.

You have to know that it was written a different audience (newbies and
commuters). Many competitive type cyclists already have this knowledge.
It's good to introduce others to it even if on a very elemental level.

PS- "that guy" (Chad) is one of our nations top 24hr solo MTB racers...so he
ought to know something about being comfortable on a bike.

Yeah, too bad the fit advice is so outmoded. That guy has so much pressure
on his shoulders, arms and hands I feel pity. His saddle set back is way off
so his back is curved far too much. I don't remember the last time I used
knee over spindle, it means nothing.
In other words the fit pictured is what a bike fitter sees when someone
comes in the door asking for help.
