John, I think the point of the article was the need for a good fit on your bike. Some general rules of thumb were given, but if anything, I think it will encourage more people to get properly fitted. Also, those rules of thumb, even if outdated, are still better than some of the positions I see for some new riders and even long-time recreational riders, so there is still some benefit to their being issued.
