Brings up an important point that Mike Murray has made and a very well-written article in VeloNews made...

The BIGGER issue is not cheating but rather SUBSTANCE ABUSE. This is a pattern of self-destructive behavior that hurts people. Athletes that use EPO, etc are more likely to do Coke, Speed, etc. all at great cost to themselves and the greater society. Opening Pandora's box so to speak. Ethics are ethics and a stronger personal stance in one area generally applies in others.

This is my favorite excerpt from that article:

anti-doping officials say the rider will not face suspension since use of the drug is not specifically banned except in competition.

It's not illegal in that country? Isn't that enough? Maybe we should ask old Marco Pantani about it.

The golden child, Tom Boonen has been caught. Read the Velonews article. That sucks.

But at least its cocaine and not EPO or Testosterone. Right?
