After last week's samba-induced 10th anniversary celebration (and another rad course), we're getting everything lined up for another fun night of summer Short Track racing you don't want to miss out on!
1) It's time for our annual Summer Casual Race Outfit Contest (*), presented by Portland Design Works!
Leave the spandex at home and come race in your "Monday best" casual threads: oversized surf trunks, colorful skirts, double-rainbow tie dye tees, knitted socks,... anything goes, as long as it doesn't weird out our kiddie racers! To get some additional inspiration, check out some of the photos of last year and the year before. The most authentic/hilarious outfits (male & female) in each race heat will win a very cool PDW "triple goodie package", consisting of an AetherDemon USB-rechargeable LED tail light, an Origami rear fender, and the most stylish bottle cage you've ever owned, aka The Bird Cage. So get your creative juices flowing!
(*) Participation in the contest is free. Judging will be done based on the photos taken at the PDW Photo Booth (look for the Portland Design Works tent, which will be located under the trees). All winners will be listed on our web site later next week.

4) Get ready for the Series Grand Finale & "Ultra Short Track" Team Relay!
That's right, we're just over two weeks away from our traditional Series Grand Finale and Ultra Short Track Team Relay! The 25 available slots for the team relay race will be awarded on a first-come first-serve basis, so don't wait too long to register your team!

PS: don't fear the heat! Yes, we know it's going to be a hot day tomorrow, but we've got you covered. Like last week, we'll design a fun, flowy course that maximizes the shaded area under the trees (including start and finish) and will feature only a short bout over the motocross course where we'll turn on one or two of the mega-sprinklers for additional cooling. We will also stock our food station with ample quantities of ice-cooled water and Hammer HEED for your post-race enjoyment and hydration!
