I have a Crosscheck built up with a great commuter setup.

Frame: 56cm Surly Crosscheck, brown
- Disc fork up front
- Brand new Avid BB7 Road disc up front, Shimano canti's in the back
- Flat bars
- Shimano 8spd internal rear hub with < 500 miles on it, so basically brand new
- Continental Contact II 37c tires
- Planet Bike fenders with buddy flaps
- Time ATAC MX pedals (platform around main clip in pedal pedal)
- Blackburn rear fender
- WTB Speed V saddle

So it has a disc up front, big burly tires for commuting, and comes with fenders and a rear rack already installed.

The tires and BB7 are all brand new, as in zero miles on them.

The 8spd internal hub has very little life on it. The rear rim was built with the hub, so it's got plenty of life on it as well. Rear brake pads have plenty of life on them. The Octalink bottom bracket was new last fall and spins freely. The wheels are round and true. I just put new cables on housing on both brakes. Chain has <500 miles on it, and is a 1/8" chain.

Both wheels are bolt-on, and I can include a Surly Jethro Tool that has a 15mm box-end wrench.

It's an awesome ready to roll commuter bike that should need no work or parts other than cable adjustments for a LONG time. And the brakes will allow you to switch to drop bars if you want and use road levers.

Located in SE PDX. $600.
