> Introduction to Racing Clinics:
> Never tried bicycle racing and always wanted to see what it was all about?
> Want to learn about the basics and more? Come join us for a FREE quick and
> concise clinic at 5:30 p.m. before the start of the novice race on the 2nd
> Monday of each month: May 11, June 8, July 13 and August 10.
> Clinics are organized using expert coaches and instructors from local
> clubs and teams. We will cover group-riding basics, assist with number
> pinning, and walk you through a typical race. If time permits, we will
> teach tricks for saving energy, riding smoothly, and safely maneuvering in
> the group. Coaches will be available after the novice race to answer
> questions. There are no clinics in the April series.
> This year we are excited to offer a new feature to encourage novice racers
> to come out to PIR. On May 4th and July 13th Oregon Bicycle Racing
> Association (OBRA) will waive the one-day membership fee for racers rolling
> up to the start line for the first time. (The standard $15 entry fee still
> applies.)
> River City Bicycles and Laurelwood Brewing Company present the Monday
> Nights Bike Race series beginning April 20th through August 31st. Races are
> held at Portland International Raceway in North Portland on a flat, closed,
> car-free circuit. Separate categories for beginners to more advanced
> cyclists, including Novice (any age), Women (any age), and Masters Men
> (ages 30+). The race series is a great opportunity for novice-level riders
> to learn some bike racing basics with free clinics throughout the season.
> Fast and fun racing for everyone – just show up with a helmet, road bike
> and sense of adventure! Want more, check out all the details at:
