For those of you with a desire or need to use a VPN to "internationalize" or anonymize your IP address, I've had pretty good luck with the Free VPN client called SoftEther VPN provided by University of Tsukuba in Japan.  It can be a bit spotty and the countries hosting the servers are more limited than commercial products, but for the occasional user it's great.  
I have no connection with the provider, but I mention this because the question comes up on OBRA chat from time to time.
