Hey OBRA Land,

As the designated "bike nut" at my place of work (TuHS) I was enthusiastically approached by a coworker about purchasing/obtaining a bike for them. The reason for their new found enthusiasm, ironically enough, has a bit of a sad story behind it...her teenage daughter was recently (March 16) diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and has spent a lot of time in the hospital due to being undiagnosed for so long. Somewhere in this process the daughter (and family) have become totally motivated to participate in the upcoming Tour de Cure on July 30th.

The problem, and reason for this post, is they do not have enough bikes to go around the family and are not made of money. My coworker is highly respected by everyone here at TuHS, works with the most needy of kids, and I would love to help. What they are looking for are a 49cm/15in and 53cm/17in bike(s) that do not need much work and are in the $100 range "somewhere" that will get them through 69 miles of riding. I know you all get hit-up about these kind of things often, but I hope I can help a friend. If you have anymore questions please do not hesitate to ask me offline.
