A heads-up that online registration for Sunday's Six Hours of Mt Hood has closed, but you can still register on site at Skibowl, either tonight (from 4 to 6pm) or tomorrow morning (from 7 to 9am) at the ski school trailer office (on the parking lot of Skibowl). You can pay with cash, checks or credit card.
We still have 50 custom pint glasses and finisher tags left, so the first 50 racers who show up and register on Sunday will get in on the goodness!
Below is the start list with the close to 200 racers who have pre-registered for the race. If you have pre-registered, please have a look and make sure that your name is showing in the correct category.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Given the large number of Solo Men racers we have pre-registered this year, we decided to add a separate Solo Master Men 50+ category. They will have their own call-ups and start time, right after the Solo Men Open.
The weather should be perfect for racing, but it might be a little cooler during the early hours of the race, so dress properly and bring enough layers, so you can stay comfortable during your race and while you're taking breaks.
As for the course, I went out to pre-ride it on Thursday and can vouch that it is in the best shape it has ever been! Petr from Skibowl added a fun new section of freshly constructed singletrack along the Lake Trail (that bypasses some of the rutted sections on that trail) and the views along the course are just gorgeous. Start List 2016 (updated Sat, July 2 - 9:00am)

- The start will be staged on the Skibowl main parking lot, in front of the main lodge.
- All solo racers and all two-person team riders who plan to race the first lap for their team must be "race ready" by 9:30am.
- At 9:30am there will be a 10' racer briefing in front of the main lodge.
- ALL RIDERS MUST ATTEND the racer briefing (incl. 2-person team racers who are not racing the first lap).
- We will start with call-ups right after the racer briefing. The Chief Referee will determine the order in which categories will be staged.
- We will have two fully-stocked aid stations at the finish area: one for 2-person teams and one for solo racers. The SOLO AID STATION will be reserved for solo riders and will have room for solo racers to stash bottles, bags and anything they like to have handy during the race.
- Racers can set up pop-up tents in the designated areas along the finish loop, either on Sat evening on Sunday morning. Please make sure to bring anchors and/or weights to secure your tents!
- Sue Monaco (Solo Women racer from Bend, OR) is the winner of our pre-registration raffle and wins a very cool Showers Pass Veleau hydration system!
