Jon is right about the Jedi. The course is tough, but so much fun! Well
named race. The camping and support by the promoters is as good as it
gets.....The area is BEAUTIFUL and worth a weekend trip.....especially with
a mtb..............Did I mention BIG, BIG trees?
have fun out there.

Often at the beginning of the year there are complaints that all the
mountain bike races take place when the weather is cold or wet. There are
not many mountain bike races left on the calendar that take place in the
nice summer conditions. If you like to see later season events make sure to
support those events with your participation. There are a couple of
excellent cross country length events in July and August. The Return on the
Jedi near Merlin is one of my favorite courses and is in an area that I stop
and ride whenever I travel down toward California. The Cascade Cream Puff
and Fritter (100 and 50 mile) take place in Oakridge on some of the best
trails in the country. It looks like the High Cascades is already sold out
which is an indication of the popularity of the event.
Enjoy the summer and Ill see you at the races. Jon Myers

I can attest the Oakridge trails and the Creampuff as both excellent.
