Clyde lovers. Perhaps you should seek out the CRUSADA Rep. at the Venue on
Friday afternoon or Saturday. There has always been tremendous pressure on
the Clydes not just weekly, but especially for the Universe competition.
CRUSADA (having international oversight) has been under siege with many
bogus attempts (even some slime Canadian from Toronto a couple of years ago)
by racers to slip under the rules radar so they could compete. This is, of
course illegal and cause for lifetime exemption from the Clyde
classification....even if weight is gained at a later time. We all know the
payout and prize list (was) huge (pun intended) for the Universe Champs, but
CRUSADA may just have had to end it because of massive number of
un-sportsmanlike / and rule infractions. Again. I suggest you check with
the CRUSADA Rep. on site. If an official announcement does not come
forward....CRUSADA can at least fabricate one! :)
The wondrous sight of all those glazed eyes from large quantities of beer,
bacon and burgers (and the drool) in the staging area was always awe
inspiring. But alas....as an older person like me can assure you
youngsters.......nothing remains the same except change.
