I am a Physical Therapist at New Heights in Cedar Mill. Your wife's shoulder pain could be from muscle, but since it hasn't cleared up, it's more likely something else, possibly joint alignment, ligament, capsule or, more likely in violinists, it's a problem in the neck. (This is also a common source of issues in cyclist, by the way) I encourage your wife, and all of you with pains that won't go away, to see a PT first. Most PTs will do a consult for free and most have doctorates and are highly qualified to diagnose or refer out all aches, pains and movement problems. Its cheaper than seeing a doctor who will order imaging that may not be necessary and then refer you out anyway. You don't need a referral to see a PT in Oregon.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Good luck!
