Love it. Quick thing to be careful of! In general group rides should
always follow the rules of the road!

(Not OBRA rules!)

When Andrew started hosting the La Doyenne, the Marys Peak TT crew saw this
is a very valuable advertising vessel for its event. They sent comp codes
to Andrew, Andrew made some strava segment competitions, awarded the comp
codes to the winners - PDX riders actually brought friends and came down.
For a small event like the Marys, those 5 or 6 racers make a difference.
Every road race and crit promoter in Oregon should be talking to that guy
right now.

Thanks for that message Kenji! I'm really working to try and ensure that riders are riding safely and following OBRA race rules on the Shootout, but I can't be everywhere at once. Regarding the some Chat responses, It's unfortunate that some folks aren't understanding that the entire point of the ride is community and that it is intended to increase interest and attendance at all OBRA races. I spent the entire day yesterday in the B group teaching inexperienced riders paceline skills and comfort in close proximity with strangers. I also heard reports that some folks in the A group were crossing the double yellow instead of learning how to move up legally within the peloton. I'm trying to create a healthy culture on the ride and am working to recruit lieutenants that will help to enforce good good riding etiquette.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated
