Road/CX/track tubular gluing

Rate is $30/wheel for Vittoria Mastik, $40/wheel for Tufo tape. Service includes removal of old tire* and tape (if used), stretching of new tire (customer-provided), cleaning & prep of rim bed, installation, and cleanup.

Turn around is usually a few days for just the basic remove/clean/reglue cycle; if the new tire requires a good stretch before installation then add four days for that. Emergency same-day service is an additional $20/wheel but you must contact me to arrange.

Tufo tape will be removed. I inspect the existing glue, clean and smooth as necessary before adding a new glue layer. I do not clean it down to the bare aluminum/carbon: my opinion is that it's better to leave a bed of adhesive. As long as it's in good condition, smooth, fairly recent, not dirty, etc., it will result in a better bond to the tire.

I only use solvents and a heat-gun for tape/glue removal. I do not use a rotary wire brush or scrapers that might damage your really nice 100% carbon wheels made of pure carbon. I apply two layers each to the rim and base tape. For road tires I leave an unglued gap opposite the stem, CX tires are glued all around but of course let me know ahead of time if you want it done differently.

For an additional $10 per tire I can fill each tire with 2oz. Stan's No Tube Sealant. This can help reduce the occurrance of flats (but no guarantees that the tire will be puncture-proof).

Referral discount: refer a team mate to me and after they get two wheels glued you will receive $10 off the cost of each wheel (limit two) the next time I glue your wheels.

I can generally pickup/deliver on the east side, anything west of downtown and we'll need to meet somewhere in the middle.

* Please note that while I make every effort to be gentle, survival of removed tire is not guaranteed.
