Heading to Cyclocross National Championships in Reno, January 9-14, 2018?
New to USAC or unsure of what you need to do to race?

1. Riders must have an annual 2018 USAC membership in hand prior to
packet pickup in Reno, January 2018. You CANNOT buy an annual membership
onsite-which means you cannot race championship events. You may purchase
your 2018 license starting December 1, 2017.

2. If you have a current USAC membership or a previous but not current
membership, please check your licensed USAC CX category to be sure it's up
to date. If it corresponds to your OBRA category, you can renew your USAC
membership and register for nationals.

3. If your USAC CX category does NOT align with your OBRA CX category,
submit a USAC upgrade request. If you have never had a USAC membership, you
will likely be given a category 5 license upon joining, but this can be
easily adjusted to match your OBRA category by submitting an upgrade
request* after setting up a USAC account.

4. **To request an upgrade:* log in to your USAC account, choose
"license" link under the banner, click on "Upgrade/Downgrade" link on right
side of screen, click on appropriate category bubble in Cyclocross column,
enter "my OBRA category is XX" in the textbox, and submit. USAC will align
the USAC category to match the rider's OBRA category shown at
obra.org/people (upgrade your OBRA category first if you're not racing the
category shown there). After your upgrade request is processed, you'll be
able to register for the right category for nationals.

5. Please do this ASAP. If you wait until after January 1, there might
be a backlog situation. This may result in you not getting your upgrade in
time.

6. Realize if you’re heading to Reno to race and you have not raced
USAC CX events, you very likely will be lining near the back of the field.
Unless you’ve raced USAC CX events, you won’t have the points to move up
your rider ranking position. Want to get some points? Then head to these
races http://www.mfgcyclocross.com/nw-cx-cup/
