Below is the final call-up list for Sunday's Kruger's Crossing CX Classic & OBRA State Championships.
Major thanks to all 408 racers who pre-registered online (it makes things much easier for our registration folks and scoring crew on Sunday) and congratulations to our two pre-reg grand prize winners: Curtis Loeb (who will go home with a Showers Pass Double Century��Jacket) and Greg Talbert (who wins a gift certificate for a Chris King bottom bracket or headset of choice)!
On Sunday, we will have a ton more prizes and goodies for the top-3 in each race category (including for each junior age group!) and random raffle winners in each category. Podium finishers and raffle winners in each race heat will be posted on the results board (next to registration), starting at 11am.
A couple other important updates about the course and the parking:
- We were out at the farm today and, despite rain of the last couple days, the course looks in relatively good shape. As expected, the newly added woodchip trails are holding up pretty well and should remain rideable throughout the day (even if we get rain at some point).
- I posted a bunch of photos of the course (taken today and earlier in the week) at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1321617397950048.1073741840.105673399544460&type=1&l=b2180a8e5a
- The grass areas are still pretty soggy and might not completely dry up by Sunday, even if the weather forecast calls for nice weather tomorrow and dry skies through Sunday morning. So, definitely bring boots or other mud-proof footwear.
- Wider tires (or riding a fat bike) might give you an advantage on the woodchip trails, but also a slight disadvantage on the grassy sections. So chose your weapon wisely! Or even better, come out tomorrow to pre-ride the course and judge for yourself. We should have most of the course set up by 2pm, but you are free to drop by the farm and ride the course anytime of the day.
- To accommodate the larger fields we anticipate, we moved the start a little further north (see detailed map at https://drive.google.com/open?id=1tXosdCQj4S0oPD7-o1nIARqgST4&usp=sharing). This will allow for a wider start shoot that will funnel the packs into a (still relatively wide) woodchip trail along the northside of the central parking lot. Note that you will have to cross the course to access the start area, so please be careful at that crossing, while races are in progress.
- With the high number of pre-registered riders - and more racers and spectators to come out on Sunday - we expect to fill the central parking lot and most of the southside 4x4 parking lot in the area behind the bonfire. To accommodate all cars, there will be an additional lot on the North side, near the start. This parking lot is in great shape, but it is located inside the race course and cars will only be able to enter and exit this lot when there is a break, in between race heats (so, roughly every 45-60'). If you end up parking your car in the north lot, PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH THE COURSE CROSSING WHILE RACES ARE IN PROGRESS (we will close the crossing with tape and post a sign with the next time slot that cars will be able to enter or exit the lot). And wherever you end up parking, please abide by the directions of parking/course marshals at all time. Also a reminder that Kruger's Farm charges a $5 parking fee (per car), so we strongly recommend to carpool with friends, or if you live close by, ride your bike to the farm!
