Good evening, OBRA Members, below are some updates relating to the different categories at The Best of Both bike race taking place on June 16th, 2018 at the Wanoga Snowpark in Bend, Oregon. Our early registration discount elapsed last night, but since I forgot to post and remind everybody, I can extend this 10% saving on all category registrations until Friday, March 9th. THE PRO RACE(S)
The Men's and Women's Open-Pro solo pro race gets us underway from Wanoga at 10:00 AM. The Men will roll-out first, with a short gap before the Women's race heads out onto the road. The trace has an uncomplicated format, race your road bike(s) over the entire distance and bid for glory and the cash. We already have some exciting names signed up to race in both pro categories. The purse structure is equal for both races and it breaks down like this.
1st Place - $1,000.00
2nd Place - $500.00
3rd Place - $300.00
Start time - 10 AM.
The course map can be viewed Here (https://risecc.us14.list-manage.com/track/click?u=8000d0a8548b316d1252095f1&id=d8492e4f07&e=292f3d389b) - 62 Miles on the Road, 23 Miles on the trails with the jersey timing points called out. The KOM, QOM, KOT, QOT jerseys are manufactured by UCI Partner Santini SMS and will be awarded on the podium. The route is electronically timed and we will announce the progress at the event village staging area as the race unfolds (cell coverage permitting). Please note - on the course page, the terrain profile for the road section is in reverse, due to the recent decision to route the course in the opposite direction heading down road 45, onto road 40, and up over Bachelor before dropping back down to transition at Wanoga. THE AMATEUR RACE(S)
The Amateur race uses the same exact course as the Pro race. The prize structure goes 3 Deep in both the Men's and Women's race, with trophies and prizes provided by the event and our array of sponsors. We will update in the weeks ahead on what those specific prizes are.

The "Team Relay" premise is simple - one rider hits the 62-mile road course, lopping back to Wanoga where they hand a timing device over to a partner, and that teammate goes all-in on 23 miles of singletrack to the finish. This is a COED category with no age groups. Bring a colleague, family member, riding partner, specialist trail-blazer or metronomic Time-Trialing, diesel fueled road-machine, and make your claim for a team victory on this unique course.
The "Couples Race" enables a team of two to work together on the entire course. Race with a friend, wife, son, daughter, colleague, or sworn enemy, and go as fast as you can together, through-and-off, or otherwise. When the second rider crosses the line, the clock stops.
Prizes and beer allocations will not disappoint. And bragging rights will resonate forever in the inaugural - Best of Both Team Relay category.

Enjoy the scenic route. Ride the entire distance but take it at your own pace. Bring your weekend crew and take in the incredible panoramic backdrop of the Cascade Mountains while making epic memories on your bike(s). This ride is supported by aid stations, two neutral tech-crews on the road and our sweeper vehicles. NOBODY gets left behind.
