Do like women's racing? Do you like junior racing? Do you like junior women's racing?

Right now two of our local girls are getting ready to start in the EPZ Omloop van Borsele. This is a Junior Nations' Cup race, which is the highest level of junior racing, one of only four races in the women's series. The two NW riders, Jasmine Soh and Gabrielle Lehnert, are riding for the National Team. I hope you'll follow along this weekend as they contest the 3 stages. Below are links for race info, I'll try to post updates from the riders as the race proceeds.

Gabrielle Lehnert is from Eugene and a junior in high school. She was selected for the national team based on her past results and performances at the USAC women's national selection camp held at the end of last summer. Her results include placing 5th in the 2017 National Championship Road Race, winning the Cat.3 San Dimas Stage Race, and, in our backyard, winning outright the 2017 Piece of Cake road race. Her next big event in the US will be racing Redlands for the Amy D Foundation team at the beginning of May. Go Gabrielle!

Jasmine Soh is from Tacoma and a senior in high school who will be sticking around and going to UW next year (yay!). She was selected for the national team based on similar criteria - her performance at the national selection camp and her stellar results. She was 4th place at the 2017 National Championship Road Race and had many podiums in races ranging from uphill TTs to the WSBA Crit Champs. She seems to be on good form now, having just won the Vance Creek Road Race last weekend on her home roads. Go Jasmine!
