FinishLynx computer connectivity

Last week the desktop computer at PIR was having issues with connectivity
with the camera. It looks like the reason was that the computer was set to
DHCP (the IP address is set automatically). The computer that is being
used to run the camera should be set to a specific IP address,
192.168.0.5. There is a sticker on just about all the computers with this
IP address as well as all the other network adapter settings. If you are
ever having problems with connecting the camera to the computer, or
maintaining that connection, the first place to look is for adequate cable
connections. After that look at the IP address settings. These get changed
frequently if some other computer is used to read the camera or, as in
this case, some moron (me) set the computer to DHCP (so that I could
connect to my home network to do updates) and then forgets to set back to
the fixed IP.

Depending on the OS on the computer, if the camera is connected directly
to the computer and there is no network being used the camera might find
the computer anyhow but it is always better to set a fixed IP address. All
other computers on the system should be set to DHCP. If the computer is
connected to a network there will nearly always be connection problems
with the FinishLynx camera. If problems develop when another computer is
attached to the network, especially if you get an IP address conflict
error, that generally means that more than 1 computer is set to the
"camera" IP address.
