Umpqua river trail

Hi Dan,
I would start at the Swiftwater TH. It's the first access pt. to the NUT from Roseburg (Tioga section). The first half is pretty mellow to the Susan Creek bridge, roughly 7 or 8 miles. You'll then hit a pretty good climb as you head east, then Bob's Butte which is another fairly challenging climb.
Stop at the Forest Ctr. near Glide on your way for a free detailed map of the whole trail.
Enjoy,

Hello all:

I am going to Roseburg for work next week, and want to hit a few sections
of the Umpqua River trail in the late afternoons. Anyone have
recommendations for easiest trail heads to get to from town? And/or
beginner friendly trails? My colleague is an infrequent rider, so we are
trying to keep it mellow.

Thanks in advance.

Dan

Saw someone ask about the Umpqua and it is in perfect shape. The burn section (3-4 miles on the road to go around it) is the only closed section. The Rhodies are blooming and the dirt is great.
