body{font-family: Geneva,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:10pt;font-family:arial,sans-serif;background-color:#ffffff;color:black;}p{margin:0px}The N-Gear is at most shops (Sellwood, Cyclepath, RCB-pretty sure). It worked pretty well for me with a single ring and outer guard. One or two dropped chains in 2 plus seasons with it. I think technique is the main part of dropping your chain. Dropping the bike hard after carrying is a major contributor. That said, short cage derailleur like Chris says, with a tight chain (in the biggest cog the cage is pulled 45 degrees towards the front of the bike) is the best help. However I went with the Pauls chainwatcher this year and so far I think it's the best thing going if you run a single chainring.
