Good move! A fit can help a ton both with discomfort and efficiency. I like the concept of a moving, rather than static, fit. There's lots of good options in PDX, I had really good results from a Retul fit by Bill Larson at Cyclepath. The Retul system is a motion capture camera and sensors stuck to anatomic points. Not only did I get two bikes fit right (different than what long practice had set up) but saw some interesting pedal motions that I had no idea I was doing.
If you already have some pain, another possibility is one of OBRA's medical / chiropractic resources.

There are numerous options in the Portland area, many of which proclaim their unique value with varying levels of superlatives and acronyms. An informal poll of my immediate circle has yielded no ringing endorsements or recommendations, so I'm hoping to tap the collective OBRA wisdom and ask for any and all opinions based on first-hand experience about particular fit systems, shops, or fitters in and around Portland. I would appreciate your input on-list or off. Thanks in advance.
