Just a quick reminder that the "early" registration period for Gran Fondo Kootenai ends tomorrow, June 15.  While you may still register on-line for the event prior to July 1, you'll save a modest amount (and help my caterer dial-in her plans) by signing up now.  You may access all the details, as well as the registration page at:  www.gfkootenai.com

Preparations are well underway for the Northwest's most beautiful cycling event: this year, we're featuring the same great routes, the same personalized support, the return of last year's superb new caterer, and -- for those who care about such things -- chip timing!  So, come and take on one of the region's most challenging climbs, several sublime descents, and some of the most pleasurable pedaling you'll ever do.

Here's a quick reminder that we are just shy of one month from this year's
start at Gran Fondo Kootenai.  Preparations for the event are on-track,
we're steadily receiving registrations, and our host towns are excited
to have us back.  Recent developments include the procurement of a new
finish venue located right on the banks of the Kootenai River, as well
as great coffee and sweet/savory treats provided at registration and aid stations by Missoula's best bakery, Le Petit Outre.  Please bear in mind that early registration cut-off is midnight (MDT)
on Friday, June 14.  So, don't miss out; save a little cash and sign up soon!

Gran Fondo Kootenai:  Saturday, July 6 - Sunday, July 7.  A two-day, point-to-point, "stage" gran fondo
(in the spirit of the old Columbia Plateau race...) featuring fully supported riding through the spectacular landscapes of
Montana's remote northwest corner.  Located primarily on National Forest Scenic Byways, our routes take in the stately Cabinet Mountains,
serene Lake Koocanusa, and the legendary Yaak Valley.
Participants will enjoy stellar climbs, thrilling descents, fantastic
scenery and -- best of all -- virtually nonexistent traffic.
Proceeds from the event will benefit charities in Libby and Eureka,
Montana.  For more details, visit the website:  www.gfkootenai.com
