For those who aren't aware, Gran Fondo Kootenai is a two-day, point-to-point fondo featuring fully supported riding through the spectacular landscapes of Montana's remote northwest corner. Located primarily on National Forest Scenic Byways, our routes take in the stately Cabinet Mountains, serene Lake Koocanusa, and the legendary Yaak Valley. And...there are virtually no cars! Proceeds benefit local charities
Day 1: Libby to Eureka, 76 miles, 4700' gain, 3 aid stations. Continuously rolling terrain on scenic byways with grand lake vistas and majestic mountain views.
Day 2: Eureka to Libby, 98 miles, 6000' gain, 4 aid stations. Stellar climbs through lush forests, and great descents along rushing streams. Includes a 1-mile gravel section. Considered by many to be one of the top courses in the nation -- truly an epic ride!
Entry fee includes: Chip timing; nutritional, mechanical and medical support during the rides; Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast; Saturday night camping, showers, etc.; gear transport; post-event celebration, and entry in our draw-prize giveaway.
Now in its sixth year, GFK is fun and as challenging as youwish to make it. We regularly draw adiverse, international crowd, and so far in 2017, we have riders coming in fromWashington, Idaho, Utah, Montana, California, Alberta and British Columbia. Add your name to the list of satisfiedcyclists!
