The course is marked. I used the cross cones. Red should stay on your

right. Yellow is for your left. The first ones you find might confuse

you, but they are at the bottom of the descent and you will be climbing

when you find them at the orange gate. Just turn right onto the trail

(instead of staying on the road) and you will be on course.



See ya on Sunday. Registration opens around 8. Sports start at 10:00.

Beginners at 10:01.



Pro/elite start close to 12:30 (when all of the beginners/sports are

clear) with experts starting a minute later.



I have custom handmade one of a kind awards for the top 3 at the race.

Even if you haven't ever been to a bike race...you want one of these.



The series awards for the Oregon Mountain bike series will also be

awarded following the race. Randy has some of the coolest awards I have

ever seen for 1st place in the series.

Good news! I have been dragging my feet on posting information about

the firecracker because the Oregon Department of Forestry has been keep

their eyes on a pair of spotted owls near the trails. If the owls would

have had little owls then we wouldn't have been able to hold the race.

I just got off the phone and there aren't going to be any little owls

this year, so the race is on.



July 25th the Oregon Series Finals. Similar course as last years,

except we won't be able to use the very top loose steep section. So,

instead we will add a little fireroad descent and singletrack climb at

the bottom of the loop. I haven't clocked it yet, but I expect 3 mile

loops with about 800 feet of climbing per loop. Beginners get 3 laps,

Sports 4, Experts 5, Pro/Elite 7.

I would like to thank the group putting on this mountain bike race. It

was a very well run event. The course was well marked and challenging.
