This Friday we will be running a points race to qualify riders for

competition in the Alpenrose Challenge mass start races; 10 mile, Miss & Out

and Points Race. Riders who are either Cat 1 track riders or who have

gotten points in the American Velodrome Challenge races to date are already

qualified and may not ride the Qualifier. The Qualifier is a race for

regional and out of town Cat 2 or 3 riders only. This single race has a

prize list of $500 cash. Top finishers will be able to compete in the

weekend events. This is a chance for local riders to step up and compare

themselves to the out of town rider and maybe take home some cash. I want

to encourage people to show up and put on a good show for what will likely

be a fairly big spectator crowd. If you are only going to do one track race

this year this is the one to do. Let's see some of the fast road riders

pull out their seldom used track bikes. The evening races will start at

5:00 PM with 500m and 1 K time trials and record attempt. The Qualifier

Points race will be last so it will likely go off 6:00 PM or later. Hope to
