John Lombard

2003-07-22

I am currently working on the permit and other issues. This week, I

will get an updated flyer out by email and hopefully get a website setup

with a preliminary start sheet that will be updated daily.

Thanks for your patience,

John Lombard

I hope this helps, and I'm sure there will be details to follow:

The District Hill Climb Championship is a completely separate event from

OUCH run by another promoter with full OBRA State Championship medals under

OBRA categories and rules. As such, OUCH is only using the results of the

state champs, we are not promoting it. Officials flyers and detais from the

District promoter will follow and we will also post those to the OUCH

website as it applies to our series.

Our understanding from conversations last fall when setting up the 2003

racing schedule is that the Hillclimb will be Sunday August 31, again on

last year's course, staging down at lowly Government Camp (3000' elev.) and

proceeding on a modest incline to a small shack called Timberline Lodge

(6000' elev.) on a local view point called Mt. Hood.

As a first year series OUCH was very lucky, fortunate and appreciative that

last fall while discussing the 2003 racing schedule and the chance to do a

hillclimb series, the district hillclimb championship event said that we

could use the results of their state champs for the 3rd and final OUCH

series event. OUCH would not have been possible without this offer, though

again, we are only using the district results so that we could offer a three

series event.

I would also like to again thank everyone again who has officiated,

supported, loaned, bailed out, given rides, setup, tear down, register and

organize, and of course participated in OUCH. As a first year event, there

is no way we could have even had one event without all the help and support

of OBRA and what it represents and is comprised of.
