Camas Road Race Aug 3

This weekend will be a great one to race.

The annual Camas Race is this Sunday.

Since the 1/2's are doing 3 laps and I want a fast race out of them (not to

say they are slow) I am giving away, with the help of Endless Pursuit, a GPS

system for your bike. $200 value.

All fields medal three deep!

You can register on Sunday with no problem. There will be cold water at the

start and finish. You are allowed a feed zone just before the transfer site

(the dump) on Mt Pleasant. The Feed Zone is open to whoever you want up

there. Just remember that it will be in the 80's.

I was on the course on Wednesday and the road is in great shape. Good

effort climbs, fast decents, and wonderful views of Mt. Hood and Portland

from the top.

In regards to the women race, if more than 5 women enter, I can split the

field 1/2/3 and then 4 for points. Something to think about to get more

women out there.

I hope to see a lot of you on Sunday.

Just days away from the Camas Road Race.

There have been a few changes so please note:

I have spoken to some juniors and decided not to hold the junior race. Some

will be out of town and the course is difficult for the junior level. I

felt that the hill climb that we did last year wasn't a good race for

juniors.

Those categories doing 2-3 laps, you can have a feed zone at the summit of

Mt Pleasant at the transfer station (this is the third climb of the lap). I

believe it is about 4 miles from the finish of the lap. It is up to you to

provide your water and such. It will be HOT! Please come prepared!

I will have water at the start area and at the finish line.

****If you want to race for free, volunteer or have a friend help out.

Contact me asap so I can set you or them up****There is a volunteer meeting

on Wed night with free pizza.

You can register at the school the day of racing.

Here is the race flyer link: http://www.wordsports.com/nrrcamasrace2003.htm

Thank You!
