Russell Morton, I read recently in Oregon Cycling, had a serious bike

accident. I contacted him, and indeed, he had a doozy of a wreck; he had

inched out onto a blind street only to have a van zoom into him, carrying

him between tire and fender a small ways down the street. He did not walk

away from it, but he IS able to ride these days, so that's a blessing. I'm

not sure of the date of the accident, but he has some corrective surgery

coming up in August.

Russell has been an important part of Oregon cycling for a long time, as a

writer AND racer (he used to go on these really l-o-n-g solo breakaways!!)
