I enjoyed the cycling movie of 2 Seconds, it was done in Canadian French with

subtitles, so you can watch it and ride the noisy rollers. A love story of a

pro mountain biker who is getting older and becomes as cycling messenger. A

great crotchety "Campy" bike shop owner who befriends her.

A tad bit of lesbianism but basically clean.

Guess I am branching out to a new occupation but recently I saw two movies

that I must recommend and you have to go see.

Triplets of Bellevue- this is an animated French film about a boy who grows

up and competes in the Tour de France. Every cyclist should go see this

because you will certainly see parts of yourself in it. I just love the

Grandmother tuning wheels with a spoon. If I had know that is what it took

I never would have bought Mike all that expensive Park equipment!

Touching the Void- Not a cycling movie. A docu-drama about a climb in Peru

gone wrong (can someone explain to me the appeal of climbing? If you want

to get to the top, take a freaking lift) Anyway the book was good, and the

movie is very interesting. It is acted out but the survivors of the ordeal

narrate it. There is a part about making choice and plans and I think it

should be hit over the head of every sentient being.

Both these films are playing in Portland but if they come to your town, or

you can rent them DO!
