Please don't take this as criticism...
In a stage race a wheel change - 10mins late, it would be to make the time
cut not the parking lot:) If your going to take a wheel make the effort.
Don't just ride back to the car, if your going to do that then just get in
the follow car. I know in the Elite races, well organized teams will drop a
few riders back and help there rider chase back in. Mick, myself and the
whole peloton saw this at last years TST with Symmetrics. And then they
went on to win the race. I would say that any truly motivated individual in
a race can make it back in, and with teammates to help it just makes it
easier. Take a wheel... please make the effort, if not leave it for someone
else.
just my 2 cents

I think the whole purpose of the wheels is to get you back to the car. I
really don't know anyone that has received a wheel change and got back on
with the peleton to finish in the points. At Mt Hood Classic, I had to
wait 10 minutes for a wheel and I was lucky to get it to finish the race.
That's way better than putting in a tube (if you have one) or walking back
to your car in your cleats.

I don't want to sound negative, but I ride Campy 10-speed and I'm sure
there
are many more riders out there that ride Campy. Why should we have to pay
for Shimano wheels? Also, are there going to be 2 follow cars for every
category at every race? so everyone gets a fair shot at these wheels.
Just constructive comments, I do think the wheels are a great idea:)

Quite the positive response to the new wheel program from OBRA! To
make
things a little easier for the entire season how about if a $1.00
surcharge
be attached to the entry fees for the races where these wheels and
services
are provided. Seems to me that it would be easier to not "forget" this
valuable service as the season wears on. The OBRA staff then would be
able
to disperse the funds much easier in my humble opinion.
What say ye of the masses?
