Was there ever a definitive decision\follow-up on this one?

Subject: RE: [OBRA Chat] Anyone 'fixing' in Cherry Pie?
This note is the first time I noticed this. I like the idea and might even
participate. The flyer appears to indicate that there will be a single
field "Single speed-fixed gear (Front brake required on fixed 2 brakes on
SS)". The rules prohibit mixing of single speed and fixed gear in the same
race for safety reasons:
"9.8.2 Bicycles shall have a freewheel mechanism EXCEPTION: A fixed gear and
single front brake may be used in time trial events or in races where all
the competitors are similarly equipped. Freewheeled and fixed gear bikes
shall not be mixed in the same mass start event."
I realize that enforcement of this has been lax in cyclocross events (many
things are lax in cross) but this should be strictly enforced for road
events. The race plan will need to be modified to accommodate 2 fields if
both types of single speed are to compete.

Noticed they're running a fixed gear cat. in Cherry Pie this year, 1
lap. Anyone else going to do it? I'm game, if others are, in spite of
the fact I've only ridden about 20 fixed miles this season so far.
Never raced there before. Looking at maybe running 73.5" (49 x 18). Will
I get clobbered on the flats?
