Prozanski introduced that bill? He flies on a bike and climbs like a
billy-goat.
He's in the state senate this year, so maybe it'll get some action. Who
are the other bike-crazy legislators in Salem?

The Sign Says "STOP"
You may remember hearing about a bill in the Oregon legislature that
would have allowed cyclists to treat stop signs as yield signs. More
recently, you may have heard a fellow cyclist make an airy reference
to that "law" as they slipped past you at a stop sign or at a red
light. We've had a few calls from alarmed bikers and angry motorists,
wondering what's up. The real story: the law ain't on the books.
HB 2768, introduced by Eugene Representative Floyd Prozanski, would
have allowed cyclists to slow and yield the right-of-way, eliminating
the need for a foot-down stop, at stop signs and flashing red lights
(not stoplights). Although the bill did pass the House of
Representatives, it didn't make it through the Senate and did not
become law.
Since the bill didn't pass, cyclists are still required to stop at
stop signs, as well as obey all other traffic laws. So, when the sign
says "stop," take a breather, check out the scenery and think of
yourself as a biking ambassador-promoting goodwill toward all
cyclists.?

George is correct, this was not passed into law.

Didn't Oregon just change the law to be that cyclist didn't have to
stop at stop signs, just slow down?? Still need to stop at lights,
just not signs?? Not the smartest of laws... But if that is the case,
I don't think they can ticket you for not stopping unless traffic was
coming and you impeded the flow of traffic.
