Nate - you are so correct with everything in your email.

I now live in Santa Monica CA , while we have the ocean and sun - we

do not have what Oregon has for bike racing all you oregon folk are

lucky to say the least

If only OBRA was in So Cal -

Hope to return to Oregon for Cross Crusade this winter...

Cheers

Josh

Hi,

Just a quick note to thank Mike and Candi Murray for promoting and

hosting

the Alpenrose Velodrome Challenge this past weekend. As a

participant and a

spectator it was excellent. The weather was great, the riders

fast, and the

atmosphere was fun. If you missed the race you missed a lot at the

Alpenrose Challenge. They had a live band, great food, merchants

selling

all things bike related, and a great set of races to watch. I

believe at

least three track records were broken over the weekend. In a time

where

there is a lot of pain the Challenge was a bright light on all of

the good

things in our sport.

Mike and Candi are obviously instrumental in the direction of OBRA

and what

a positive direction it is heading. Record membership and some of

the best

racing venues in the country. Other places may have a "race" but

Oregon and

OBRA has:

one of the best track events in the country: The Alpenrose Velodrome

Challenge,

the best Cyclo Cross series in the country: The Cross Crusade,

some of the best stage racing in the nation: Columbia Plateau,

Mount Hood,

Elkhorn, Cascade, Co-Motion, Eugene Celebration,

some of the best weekly series found anywhere: with Mount Tabor,

PIR, and

the track,

excellent mountain bike racing and road races,

and as we are finding out a cycling community that truly cares

about its'

members.

Thanks for the ride.

Sincerely,

Nathan Hobson
