Dear Mr. Lanton,

Overseas with your own bike is easy and great. The Euro is not great

for buying in terms of exchange rate - at least that is my opinion.

On overseas flights, you should read the airlines rules, but most if

not all airlines let a boxed bike go free as long as it is one of the

two pieces of checked luggage and not overweight. The local bike

shops get several deliveries per week and will likely give the box to

you along with some special packing. Also, you can pack clothing

around the bike and perhaps have plenty of room to bring stuff home

as well. Be sure to read the airlines web page though, sometimes the

check in people don't know all the rules. Printing it out is a good

idea.

Does anyone have an informed opinion about bringing a bike over and

back as opposed to buy then sell while in France?

Thanks
