Mt Hood Cycling Classic- No Prologue?

No argument that Mt Hood is an awesome race either way (thank's Chad), but I

will definitely miss the prologue. I guess if we want a prologue, we should

put in the time to upgrade before Hood, eh? ;)

Regarding the prologue at Mt Hood...

I'm glad it's gone. I prefer to participate in races that take longer

than the warm up. Mt.Hood is a bad ass race prologue or no. Leave the

prologue to the guys that get paid to ride their bikes on thursday anyway.

I am just wondering...how many potential Mt Hood Cat 3 / Master's riders

are disappointed that there is no Prologue for this stage race this year?

In my opinion, that is what made this stage race very cool and unique...

Agree - the CAT3 prolog will certainly be missed, and that will also be

100+ less people for the Hood River economy eating out, buying gas and

sleeping in hotel rooms.

Jay,

As a newly upgraded Cat3 who raced Mt Hood as a Cat4 last year (and

cheered on a Cat3 buddy in the Prologue)... I'm disappointed I won't

have the opportunity to go anaerobic on Thursday evening! Just

completing a Prologue as part of the stage race really is a treat for

the slower cat's.

Seldom do the lower categories get to race the volume and frequency of

the top cat's in the big stage races- Mt Hood was definitely an

exception.

Sad, but it's still overall an epic 3 days of racing...

Although the prologue is fun, it is nice to not have to take an extra

day off from work to race a few miles.
