All the High school teams(kids, parents, coaches) and
their members have flat out said they do NOT want to
race in the Summer. They say it is hard enough to get
them all together and transpo during the school year
little old track them all down in the Summer...trust
me I have tried...the few kids that want to race all
year will but 80%+ will stop after the school year
JR's already get a big $$ discount.
There already do give out personal and team awards.

attending all season long. HS students are very

model for mtb racing would increase numbers

the season. While mtb racing ia an individual
sport,
working for points for a team holds people
accountable
to their team for points and that can be very
motivating as no one wants to let down his or her
comrades. If each team is allocated a certain
number
of male and female racers from each category, then
each team must recruit beginners as their points can
be weighted as highly as an elite's. HS students
could be scored for their individual series and for
the team they are racing for in order to increase
their motivation to participate in other races as
well.
If money is an issue then each team that wants to
participate can pay a fee for tallying points. All
that's left to do is create some funky trophy that
garners a bunch of smack talk between teams and the
subsequent pride for winning said trophy (and maybe
some cool swag).
