RE: Racing For Pies?

I think that's way out of line to complain.

It takes a lot of effort to organize a road event. Almost nobody here races

for a living. If you are someone who does, I'd think you'd be racing

elsewhere.

And it's their thing - Pies. Yeah it's kind of cheesy, but no where close

to the cheesiness you just displayed, in my opinion.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Racing For Pies?

Hello OBRA,

I am usually not one to complain about payouts at bike races because I do

race for fun, however the Cherry Pie Road Race just bugs me. I have heard

the past couple years it is the biggest road race of the year in reguards to

attendance, yet all you get for placing is a CHERRY PIE??? You train all

winter, and if you place all you get is a pie? No one else as a problem

with this?

What do other people think of this? I know a couple weeks ago there was

some talk about prize lists and payouts at races. Why do so many people

show up especially people from out of state to race for Pies?

Maybe OBRA people just like racing for pies, and in order to increase summer

race attendence promoters should drop cash prizes and give away pies!

I do want to thank the promoter for putting on such a great event, and

taking the time out the their schedule to put on the event, I would just

like to see you do better then donated pies as your prize list.
