Keith, you can race in the 3 only (or 4 only?) field if you like. You are
mistaken, they are not combined this year.
As Martin points out, you actually have lots of options. Please take a look
at the flyer.

Well there's where you're making a mistake, Keith! Any fixed gear racer
has the opportunity to race in the only OBRA fixed gear road race at
Cherry Pie, provided they're still having that field.
Do it and you'll also have the pleasure of lining up against others that
love riding fixed, even cat 1's and 2's. It was on my list of 'to do'
races this year, at least until I had a stroke 4 weeks ago today.
Thankfully I'm better now and am just about ready to resume road riding.

Well now that someone brought this race up I will give my worthless

For me the biggest problem with that race is combining the 3's and 4's
to
make a field of well over 100 for the first race of the year. YIKES!
I will never do the Cherry Pie race again as I am not man enough to ride
the
1/2/3.
Make sure you line up EARLY for that 3/4 race kids or you will be stuck
in
accordion land!!

Hello OBRA,
I am usually not one to complain about payouts at bike races because I
do
race for fun, however the Cherry Pie Road Race just bugs me. I have
heard
the past couple years it is the biggest road race of the year in
reguards to
attendance, yet all you get for placing is a CHERRY PIE??? You train
all
winter, and if you place all you get is a pie? No one else as a problem
with this?
What do other people think of this? I know a couple weeks ago there was
some talk about prize lists and payouts at races. Why do so many people
show up especially people from out of state to race for Pies?
Maybe OBRA people just like racing for pies, and in order to increase
summer race attendence promoters should drop cash prizes and give away
pies!
I do want to thank the promoter for putting on such a great event, and
taking the time out the their schedule to put on the event, I would just
like to see you do better then donated pies as your prize list.
Shucker
