Subject: [OBRA Chat] Donations for Oregonian's

racing the Cyclo-cross World

Championships

Folks,

As many people have read here and in the

newspaper, 5 racers from

Oregon have been selected to compete at the

Cyclo-cross World

Championships in the Netherlands this year. A

couple of these racers

have sponsorship or Federation support that pays for

this trip. For

most, being selected to the team means that they

will be paying

somewhere over $2000 out of their own pocket. That

does not include

taking a week and 1/2 off from work. All the racers

know that they will

have to pay to attend, but it is still a significant

expense. This cost

includes airfare, lodging, and a fee to USA Cycling.

If you would like to donate money to support

these local racers,

please send a check to OBRA with a note on the

letter or check

indicating it is for cyclo-cross worlds. OBRA will

give all the donated

money to the local racers that are going. As an

added bonus, the

donation is tax deductible.

   Please send to:

   OBRA

   P.O. Box 16355

   Portland, OR 97292

Thanks, Jon
